rain rain here to stay

One thing I get over about New York is the way rain works here.

I guess growing up in Northern California I have skewed concepts of "wet" weather.

I spent the entire day out and about, the sun shining down horrendously. The humidity making me sweat like a pig if a pig could sweat and was walking around Manhattan in 87 degree weather.
The sky was without a cloud, until about 6 pm (well, i can't be sure exactly what time, I was asleep) when a layer of them covered the sky.

It's supposed to rain tonight. And Thunder storm tomorrow. Yes I know some sort of tropical storm is spattering us, but I still don't understand where it came from.

You always knew when it was going to rain in Santa Rosa. You'd step outside, the sky would be cloudy all day and it would be sort of kind of actually COLD. (or at least brisk). And then the rain would start and not end for 3-7 days. I think I will end up missing this kind of rain. I know I will end up missing the Sunday afternoon drives I used to go on with TTBN through the redwood trees out to the coast.

The cold weather will be here soon. We don't have redwood trees, but we have Central Park and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

true there are those parks. It actually gets greener during the winter time in northern california than the rest of the year though.

Don't be so emo

You can always come visit. I promise that the redwoods aren't going anywhere!

At least the ones on my property aren't.

I wish there were lower branches on some of the big ones. I really want to climb them, and possibly build a tree fort.
